Pilates is an exercise technique developed over 75 years ago by Joseph H. Pilates. He originally called it Contrology.
The technique combines strength, stamina, stability and stretching for an invigorating workout. The focus is on your core abdominal muscles initiating every movement, though all the muscles in the body will be working.
The apparatus Joe developed supports and challenges clients to become more proficient in the technique, though the matwork is the foundation of it all! |
